Lincoln Square Coaching (LSC) is a mission-driven vocational rehabilitation and career development organization. We partner with schools, families, employers, and state vocational rehabilitation programs to deliver high-quality, person-centered services that bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for youth and adults with disabilities.

Position Summary

The Career Specialist will lead instruction and support in self-advocacy and work readiness skills for participants in both our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and Adult VR programs. This role blends direct service delivery with program coordination, ensuring that individuals develop the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills needed to achieve success in employment and postsecondary pathways.
The ideal candidate is an engaging facilitator who thrives on working with diverse learners, values inclusivity, and has a passion for helping people achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Coaching (70%)
Facilitate individual and group sessions on self-advocacy, workplace readiness, and related skill areas for high school students and adult participants.
Deliver curriculum that promotes independence, communication, career exploration, and employment success.
Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with diverse abilities.
Model and reinforce workplace behaviors such as problem solving, teamwork, professional communication, and self-determination.
Program Coordination & Documentation (20%)
Develop and maintain session schedules in collaboration with VR counselors, school staff, and families.
Track attendance, progress, and outcomes in accordance with ACCES-VR and agency requirements.
Ensure compliance with documentation standards, including timely completion of case notes and reports.
Collaboration & Professional Development (10%)
Act as a point of contact for assigned participants and school/agency partners.
Collaborate with LSC staff to align programming with organizational goals and participant needs.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications**

Required
Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, psychology, social work, human resources, or related field.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational, vocational, or human services settings.
Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
Comfort with hybrid work environment and willingness to report regularly to the Manhattan office.
Preferred
Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, education, or related field.
Familiarity with Pre-ETS, vocational rehabilitation services, or transition-age youth programming.
Knowledge of universal design for learning (UDL), career readiness frameworks, or evidence-based employment practices.
Bilingual proficiency a plus.
