Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Designer for our client, a fast growing childrenswear brand. You’ll play a crucial role in their business by being responsible for end-to-end design tasks including market and trend research, initial mood boards & mock ups, creating patterns and artwork, providing design feedback on samples, and ideating / coordinating photoshoots. You’ll work closely with their CEO, who is also the brand’s design director. JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDesign: • Design seasonal collections that are aligned with brand direction and market trends, • Lead research and trend analysis by monitoring the competitive landscape, • Prepare design mood boards with inspiration for new prints, colors, icons, and slogans, • Coordinate with production team and suppliers to source new fabrics and trims, • Work closely with merchandising to ensure design alignment with assortment plans, • Create product mock ups in Canva (or like tools), • Provide production team with design feedback on samples to achieve the desired look while adhering to production timelines, • Support in the creation of tech packs and design specifications, • Consider feasibility of new designs with current capabilities while also partnering with production to expand capabilitiesPhotoshoot Planning & Coordination:, • Review product & collection launch timelines to set photoshoot dates well in advance, • Once production begins, begin planning photoshoot leveraging mood boards established during the design process, • Choose and coordinate with one of the brand's photographers based upon needs of that particular photoshoot, • Create & provide list of products, outfits, set props, and styling guidelines to photographers to ensure each shot is efficient and serves a commercial purpose, • Coordinate sending any set props or styling accessories to photographers in advance of the photoshoots, • Review and provide feedback on edited photographs once shared back to us, • Maintain a shared folder with all content from photoshoots to be used for various purposes within the brand and its customers (e.g., SMS & email marketing, social, lifestyle images across sales channels, etc.)JOB REQUIREMENTS, • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field / equivalent experience, • 5+ years experience in apparel design, preferably in children’s apparel, • Proficient on Creative Design Tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva (or similar design tools), • Strong attention to design details with an ability to accurately select colors from swatch books and simply/effectively communicate design concepts, • Balances creative process with an ability to manage timelines and detailed logistics, • Works independently and is a self-starter while also collaborating cross functionally
