Location: New York, NY Location Type: On-site Pay Range: $25 – $28 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Description Devocion is seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our growing Technical Service Department. As America’s freshest specialty coffee provider, Devocion is redefining what it means to deliver quality — not only through fresh roasting, but also through exceptional equipment and facility support for our coffee shops. Devocion is the only roaster in the U.S. roasting fresh green beans just 15–30 days after leaving origin — far faster than traditional roasters. Overview We are looking for a proactive, hands-on individual to join our team as a Handyman / Maintenance Technician. This role combines general maintenance work with the opportunity to learn how to repair and maintain coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, water systems, etc.). If you enjoy working with tools, solving problems, and want to develop specialized technical skills, this position is for you. As a technician, you’ll deepen your knowledge of coffee equipment while helping maintain the quality standards that make Devocion unique. Responsibilities • Perform general repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.), • Conduct preventive maintenance of facilities, • Assist with installation and repair of coffee equipment, • Diagnose issues and propose effective solutions, • Keep tools and work areas organized, • Learn and apply maintenance techniques for coffee machinery Requirements • Previous experience as a handyperson or in general maintenance, • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, • Ability to use hand and power tools, • Strong willingness to learn and sense of responsibility, • Driver’s license, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications • Experience with general maintenance projects, • Experience with coffee equipment or similar machinery, • Interest in coffee and its technology, • Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance Physical Requirements • Ability to frequently move around for extended periods of time (8+ hours per day, 5 days per week)., • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs., • Ability to operate store machinery for extended periods of time. Work Shifts Full time 37.5 hours per week , rotating weekends 11:00PM-7:30AM Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position: Under direct supervision of a licensed Nurse or other professional medical staff in a health care setting, performs a variety of clerical and health-related essential duties and responsibilities associated with patient care; performs related work. Examples of Typical Tasks: 1. Checks vital signs, weighs, and measures patients, obtains specimens and records findings on patient’s chart., 2. Instructs patients on how to obtain specimens for laboratory testing and performs basic specimen screening testing through dipstick and hemoccult. 1. Prepares collected specimens for pick-up by labeling and preparing required form(s)., 2. Performs vision and hearing testing and simple urinalysis., 3. Interviews patient to obtain routine personal and medical information and appropriate health history., 4. Operates electrocardiograph equipment to record electrical wave tracing of the electrical currents of the heart muscle. Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements: 1. High school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization; and, 2. Successful completion of training courses including the performance of phlebotomy and electrocardiography (EKG), or completion of a training program or programs that include the performance of phlebotomy and EKG, such as Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician training programs, a Patient Care training program, or a Medical Assistant training program; and 1. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
