Job Description Position Summary: The Senior Firmware Engineer leads the design and development of embedded firmware for next-generation connected devices. The ideal candidate has deep experience in wireless networking protocols, embedded systems, secure bootloaders, OTA firmware updates, and custom network stack development. This role requires strong hands-on expertise across the full product lifecycle developing smart connected products for the commercial and residential markets. Key Responsibilities: • Architect, design, and implement embedded firmware in C/C++ for ARM Cortex (M0/M3/M4/M33), STM32, Nordic nRF, ESP32, and similar microcontrollers., • Develop and maintain custom wireless network stacks operating over Bluetooth, Thread, LoRa, sub-GHz radios., • Implement and optimize communication protocols including DMX512/RDM, DALI/D4i, RS485, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, and proprietary protocols., • Design and implement secure bootloaders, OTA firmware upgrade mechanisms, encryption, and key management systems., • Execute the roadmap for the architectural design of firmware for the Smart modules and gateways, ensuring scalability and modularity across multiple hardware variants., • Architect and implement robust communication stacks for wireless and wired protocols, including Bluetooth Mesh, Wi-Fi, DMX512/RDM, RS-485, and DALI/D4i, ensuring interoperability within the smart lighting ecosystem., • MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience., • 10+ years of experience in Embedded Firmware engineering., • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems for resource-constrained embedded systems., • Extensive experience developing embedded Linux systems, including bootloaders, kernel drivers, and user space applications., • Strong experience with 32-bit ARM microcontrollers and in-circuit debugging techniques., • Deep applied knowledge of various networking and hardware communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C, JTAG, SWD, BLE/Mesh, DMX, DALI, Wi-Fi., • Proven hardware bring-up, prototyping, and debugging experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other lab instrumentation., • Experience with modern software configuration and issue management tools (Git, Jira, etc.)., • Practical experience with Design for X (DFx), including design for cost, manufacturability, and testability., • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required based on business need. Responsibilities • Participate in the planning/evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives, • Hands-on training and assisting residents in the activities for daily living and documenting interaction, • Responsible for accompanying residents on recreational outings and travel training exercises, • Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management, • Assist in the day-to-day management of the community residence, • Responsible for administration of residence in the absence of the Assistant Administrator, • Notify the Assistant Administrator/Residential Administrator of any medical/psychiatric emergency, • Provide transportation as needed for shopping, medical appointments, etc., • Write progress notes on residents' activities on a daily basis, • Monitors management of medication, • Involved with the cleanliness of the residence, • Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of staff office, • Advocate for residents' benefits, • Teach residents the skills needed to gain independence, • Coordinate staff contacts with local service providers as needed to assist residents in accessing services and to plan for discharge jointly, • Work with support services on behalf of the residents' best interest, • Assist and or model the various techniques required to maintain a clean and healthy living environment Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent with related experience required, • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services preferred, • Related experience working with people living with mental illness or other disabilities that require assistance in day to day living highly preferred, • Physical Requirements: Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, may push or pull 10-15 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
