About the role We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team at Circle. As we scale to $100M+ ARR, we need a detail-oriented accounting professional to strengthen our financial operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on accounting role reporting to the Controller. You'll be responsible for managing the monthly close process, overseeing day-to-day accounts payable operations, and supporting accounts receivable functions. Your work will be critical to maintaining the integrity of our financial records and providing management with reliable monthly financial statements. This is an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting processes in a fast-growing SaaS business, working closely with cross-functional teams while building scalable accounting operations. As Circle continues to scale, there's significant opportunity to grow into broader accounting responsibilities. What you'll be doing • Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, • Manage daily AP operations: invoice processing, vendor payments, expense report reviews, and vendor account reconciliations, • Prepare monthly financial reports and management reporting packages, • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for all balance sheet accounts, • Coordinate annual financial audits, including PBC requests, audit workpaper preparation, and serving as primary point of contact for external auditors, • Support tax compliance activities, including preparation of documentation for sales tax, VAT/GST, and income tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policiesWhat you'll need to be successful, • Strong alignment with our values. Find our values on our career page if you haven't read up on them yet., • You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5., • Coachable, honest, accountable, and a self-starter., • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with ownership of month-end close processes, • Prior experience in SaaS or high-growth subscription businesses, • Strong technical accounting skills: GAAP knowledge, revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, and accrual accounting, • Advanced Excel proficiency: Comfortable with complex/nested formulas, and building reporting templates, • Experience with QBO, Ramp & Stripe (subscription management, billing and payment processing), or similar tools, • Detail-oriented and organized: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines with accuracy, • Collaborative communicator: Work effectively across teams and explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholdersBonus points, • CPA designation (or actively pursuing it), • Fully remote: work from anywhere in the world!, • Autonomy and trust to do your job: we care about outcomes over everything else., • Paid time away: all employees are given 35 days of PTO annually.
