Job Description Our organization is in search of a Full-Time Chief of Neurology to join our facility in Oceanside! The chosen candidate will lead the Division of Neurology, overseeing clinical services, providing administrative guidance, and managing quality and safety performance metrics. This role is pivotal in further developing our expanding Division of Neurology and Department of Medicine. The selected individual will also be eligible for a faculty position at a prestigious medical school, contingent upon their qualifications and experience. We are particularly interested in candidates eager to enhance our existing framework and establish new areas of expertise within neurology. Our facility is a recognized, acute care, not-for-profit teaching hospital situated in Oceanside, New York. Our committed team serves the entire South Shore, extending from the Rockaways in Queens to Massapequa and beyond. We pride ourselves on delivering quality, compassionate care at our main campus and through nine additional satellite locations in the region. As one of the largest hospitals in the area, we offer 455 beds, employ over 900 physicians, and have a workforce of 3,500 dedicated employees. The Division of Neurology currently consists of a growing team, including two stroke neurologists, a neuromuscular neurologist, two epileptologists, and three general neurologists, who collaborate in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our hospital has earned the Joint Commission's gold seal for disease-specific care in primary stroke, is recognized as an AHA Gold Plus Stroke Center, and offers partial thrombectomy capabilities. We are set to become fully thrombectomy capable 24/7/365 by April 2024, with the addition of trained neurointerventional specialists on-site. Additionally, we have a robust neurosurgical service, state-of-the-art neurological imaging, and an epilepsy platform, with an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) launching in April 2024. Our facility is a comprehensive tertiary care hospital, with cardiac surgery services anticipated in 2025, alongside various enhancements to the Department of Medicine, which includes an Internal Medicine Residency and gastroenterology fellowships, with plans for further fellowship and training programs. We are actively working to establish a fully comprehensive thrombectomy-capable Stroke Center and Neurology Service and are looking to recruit more full-time faculty to broaden the Division's offerings.
