Organizational Relationships: • Responsible to the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education., • Works closely with health center faculty, staff and students. General Responsibilities: The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast holding academic rank and engaged in instructional, scholarly and professional, or academic service activities for the College. These activities include, but are not limited to: laboratory, classroom, online, and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising, enrollment management functions, College governance; and service to one’s profession. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage patient care within the approved policies and procedures of the Northeast health centers., • Develop and utilize relevant marketing to grow faculty practice expectations per the Faculty Handbook to support student learning., • Responsible for all patient health care decisions to include evaluation, management and recordkeeping., • Be a consultation resource for other faculty members., • Provide hands on mentoring and foster a critical thinking environment for student education., • Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism and compliance with health center standards., • Oversee and issue quantitative and qualitative credits and provide feedback to students regularly., • Assist with clinical education activities (evaluations, orientation, remediations, OSCE, mentor meetings, etc.) as needed., • Engage students in a variety of clinical activities while ensuring appropriate continuity of patient care., • Participate in health center meetings as well as mandatory professional development activities., • Maintain clean and orderly patient treatment areas and report any equipment needing repair., • Participate on College committees and task forces as assigned., • Maintain active involvement with professional, national and state organizations important to clinical, educational, and administrative responsibilities., • Develop a professional development plan in conjunction with the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education., • Other duties as assigned. This may include but is not limited to small maintenance, improvement and repair projects such as minor painting, plumbing, electrical work, etc., • Report items that are in need of repair/minor painting, etc. (doors, furniture, lights, fixtures, equipment, etc.), and conditions that present a hazard to the facility / community and its visitors., • Diagnostic abilities – capable of identifying items in need of repair/replacement and able to discuss and coordinate with outside vendors and Northeast Facilities and Purchasing departments as needed., • Maintain the outdoor facilities as required. The Ryan White Support Services program addresses unmet social service needs that have significantly hindered their access to and engagement in HIV and other essential medical care. This program will expand services to Staten Island and establish community-based, non-Medicaid eligible services in Queens to assess, identify, and address unmet social determinants of health (SDOH) needs. The Community Navigator (Queens) will be responsible for delivering non-medical case management and food nutrition education to clients enrolled in our second Ryan White Support Services program, located at Sun River Health’s Sutphin Health Center in Jamaica, Queens. The Community Navigator will be trained on NYSDOH-approved HIV Health Education/Risk Reduction curriculum, food and nutrition counseling/education, and developing an individualized Healthy Food Security Plan for clients.
