Job Description Job Title: Electrician Job Description This role focuses on commercial electrical construction and installation, with an emphasis on conduit work, wiring, and fixture installation on a high-profile mixed-use project. You will perform hands-on tasks such as bending and running conduit, pulling wire, reading blueprints, and installing finish fixtures in a highly regulated commercial job site. The position starts as a defined assignment with strong potential for ongoing work on additional projects based on performance. Responsibilities • Bend and install EMT and other electrical conduit accurately to project specifications., • Run conduit, including EMT and heavy electrical pipe, in open concept ceiling environments., • Pull MC and BX wiring, as well as other electrical wire, safely and efficiently., • Perform electrical construction and installation tasks, including rough-in and finish work., • Install and secure electrical fixtures, lighting, and related components to code., • Read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and prints to complete installations correctly., • Assist with switchgear-related tasks and ensure proper connections and terminations., • Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues in a timely and safe manner., • Follow directions from site leadership and work collaboratively with the field team., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times on a high-profile job site., • Use appropriate hand tools and cordless drills to complete daily tasks., • Adhere to all site safety requirements, including continuous use of PPE and compliance with OSHA regulations., • Meet quality and productivity expectations while working on a mixed-use commercial building. Essential Skills • At least 5 years of experience as a electrician in commercial electrical construction., • Proficiency in conduit bending, including EMT and heavy pipe, with consistent accuracy., • Demonstrated experience running conduit in commercial environments, including open concept ceilings., • OSHA 30 certification, with the ability to comply with all safety regulations on site., • SST 10 DOB certification for work on regulated commercial job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on highly regulated commercial job sites., • Background working on mixed-use or high-profile building projects., • Comfort using a full set of hand tools and cordless drills for daily tasks., • Experience installing finish fixtures in occupied or near-finished environments., • Ability to adapt to different job sites and project assignments over time., • Five to seven years of field experience as a full mechanic or equivalent level of responsibility. Work Environment This position is based on a commercial job site within a high-profile mixed-use building. The environment is highly regulated, requiring OSHA 30 compliance at all times and consistent use of personal protective equipment. Tasks involve installing finish fixtures and running conduit in open concept ceilings using hand tools and cordless drills. The assignment initially spans approximately two weeks, with the strong possibility of placement on additional job sites for candidates who perform well. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Melville, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
