Job Description Retail Store Assistant – Huntington, NY (On-site) Store Hours 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. A biweekly schedule: Week 1 – 6 workdays, Week 2 – 4 workdays (Working Alternating Weekends) Full-time, Non-Exempt About Us: Appliance World is a leading home appliance retailer specializing in premium and luxury appliance brands, with showrooms in Huntington and Oyster Bay, New York. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Retail Store assistant to join our dynamic sales team. Job Description: As a Retail Store Assistant at Appliance World, you will elevate client satisfaction by delivering an exceptional journey during the kitchen renovation process and collaborate closely with our sales associates and store management. Role Responsibilities * Deliver an exceptional customer experience to both external and internal clients. * An accomplished achiever with motivation and a strong sense of personal responsibility. * Oversee the front counter experience and handle incoming phone calls. * Meet clients' requests upon arrival, including offering coffee, water, and other amenities. * Capable of drafting sales orders for various items, including products, exchanges, accessories, and more. * Utilize a proprietary system for verifying client order confirmations. * Support clients in the collection of payments, coordinate delivery schedules, and collaborate with the fulfillment team to finalize the sales procedure. * Handle in-store financing applications when applicable and send the necessary procedures to clients for completion online. * Collaborate with the ordering department and keep clients informed about the progress of their orders. * Utilize USPS/UPS for shipping smaller accessories and furnishing receipts and tracking information internally and to clients. * Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management. Qualifications * At least one year of in-person customer service experience is required. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and familiar with Adobe. * Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. * Capability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team * Successful completion of high school or an equivalent (GED) is a prerequisite Compensation & Benefits * Starting hourly rate: $25.00 ($52,000 annually) * Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability Insurance * Paid time off (PTO), including vacation time, sick leave, and birthday * Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and a 401(k) savings plan * Employee Discount Program * Employee assistance programs (EAPs) * Voluntary benefits * Overtime must be approved by management if the work week exceeds 40 hours
