Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Senior Social Worker, Jail Diversion will lead a team that conducts independent clinical assessments and drafts treatment recommendations for defendants being held in pretrial detention. The Senior Social Worker will supervise a team of social workers and counselors and oversee the referral, assessment, and treatment planning process—ensuring adherence to a strict timeline and that the process is completed as quickly as possible. They will also regularly conduct assessments and prepare treatment plans, including for more complex and demanding cases. The Center for Justice Innovation operates Project Reset, New York City's pre-arraignment diversion program, in all five boroughs and the Midtown Community Justice Center operates the program in Manhattan. In collaboration with the District Attorney’s Offices, the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, the defense bar and the New York Police Department, Project Reset seeks to create a proportionate response to low-level crime outside of the traditional criminal justice process. Project Reset-eligible community members receive the option to participate in a one session program in advance of their court date. Upon completion of the session, the District Attorney’s Office will decline to prosecute the case. The Midtown Community Justice Center also offers Rapid Reset, which offers the same diversion opportunity to Project Reset-eligible people who show up to court. The program diverts participants from jail or prison by conducting clinical assessments and then connecting them with long-term treatment in the community, along with rigorous judicial monitoring. The court aims to strengthen the justice system’s ability to identify, assess, and monitor individual participants, to create linkages between the justice and mental health systems, and to improve public safety by ensuring that participants receive high quality community-based services. Brooklyn Felony ATI Program The Brooklyn Felony ATI Program utilizes a similar model to Brooklyn Mental Health Court, serving individuals facing felony charges who are not otherwise eligible for Mental Health Court or other treatment courts in Brooklyn. The program receives referrals through two pathways: (1) the dedicated Felony ATI court part within Brooklyn Supreme Court, with a dedicated judge and supervising prosecutor; and (2) through other court parts throughout Brooklyn Criminal and Supreme Court. Regardless of the referral pathway, all participants receive individualized assessments, onsite and community-based services, compliance monitoring and judicial monitoring for the life of the case. BMHC is seeking a Social Worker for its Brooklyn Felony Diversion programs. The Social Worker will serve individuals who are mandated to Brooklyn Mental Health Court and Felony Alternative to Incarceration (Felony ATI) programming through the Brooklyn Supreme Court. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Social Worker is responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments, linking clients to a range of wrap-around services, providing comprehensive trauma-informed case management, compliance monitoring, and reporting for clients referred to the Brooklyn Mental Health Court and Brooklyn Felony ATI programs. Fundraising & Development Support• Partner with the Revenue team to support sponsorship deliverables and activation needs.• Assist with solicitation materials, sponsor fulfillment, and post-event stewardship touchpoints.• Help prepare reporting, recaps, and metrics for internal and external audiences.• Support prospect research related to events and cultivation efforts, including identifying, qualifying, and briefing potential donors, sponsors, and hosts in partnership with the Development Operations teams.• Assist with building and maintaining prospect pipelines tied to events, including tracking engagement history, relationships, and next steps in the CRM.• Prepare concise donor and prospect briefing materials (profiles, talking points, giving context) to support senior leadership, board members, and hosts • Support pre and post-event fundraising strategy by helping identify follow-up opportunities, stewardship priorities, and cultivation pathways stemming from event engagement. ABOUT YOU OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:• 5–7 years of experience in special events, production, nonprofit fundraising events, or related fields.• Strong project management skills -- you love a timeline, a tracker, and a well-organized Google Drive.• Comfort working with vendors, production teams, and high-profile stakeholders.• A proactive, “no job too big or too small” attitude; willingness to dive in at every level of execution.• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and discretion when working with VIP guests, donors, and partners.• Strong aesthetic sensibility and interest in design, culture, talent, and storytelling.• Experience with CRM, project management, guest list platforms, or event management tools is a plus (e.g., Salesforce, Monday.com, Zkipster).• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.• A passion for mental health and the mission of Project Healthy Minds.
