Job DescriptionJob Title: Electronics Assembler – Temperature Control Systems Job Description This role focuses on assembling and testing electronic subassemblies for temperature control systems used in aerospace applications. You will work from initial build through inspection, ensuring each unit meets strict engineering specifications and quality standards. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineering and production teams in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies and assemblies for electrical and electronic systems using hand and power tools., • Build temperature control system components according to engineering specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions., • Perform detailed inspections and functional testing of assembled components to verify they meet quality and performance standards., • Document assembly processes, inspection findings, and test results accurately in company systems and travelers., • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly, wiring, and soldering issues., • Follow manufacturing procedures and specifications to accurately complete job assemblies and maintain product consistency., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety, quality, and housekeeping protocols., • Use wire strippers, crimping tools, soldering irons, and other small tools to prepare and assemble wiring and electronic components., • Perform repetitive assembly operations with consistent quality and efficiency to meet production schedules and deadlines., • Handle and assemble various small parts and components with a high level of manual dexterity and attention to detail., • Navigate file systems to access and open drawings and manufacturing procedures needed for daily work., • Use scanners for timekeeping, attendance, and tracking work travelers through the production process., • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance assembly procedures and workflows., • Comply with all applicable regulations and company policies related to aerospace manufacturing and controlled projects.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in electronic assembly, preferably within aerospace or closely related industries., • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training., • Strong understanding of electronic components, wiring practices, and soldering techniques., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions., • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English., • Proficiency in reading and following manufacturing procedures and specifications to complete assemblies accurately., • Ability to perform repetitive assembly operations while maintaining high quality and consistency., • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and work in standardized situations., • Skilled in using wire strippers, crimping tools, soldering irons, and other hand and electrical tools., • Comfort working with various small tools and parts and assembling subassemblies with precision., • Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills suitable for electronic and wiring work., • Ability to read blueprints and understand schematic diagrams., • Good communication skills and a team-oriented, collaborative attitude., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet production requirements., • Good reading vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus., • Ability to speak clearly to communicate with team members and supervisors., • Eligibility to work on projects subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (Green Card holder).Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies is a plus., • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing environments and quality expectations., • Experience using scanners for time, attendance, and work traveler tracking., • Comfort reading and navigating electronic file systems to access drawings and procedures., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work., • Demonstrated ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a production workspace., • Ability to adapt to evolving procedures and contribute ideas for process improvements.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production environment focused on aerospace temperature control systems. You will work primarily at an assembly workstation, using hand tools, electrical tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, soldering irons, and other small tools and parts on a daily basis. The work involves repetitive assembly tasks that require sustained concentration, fine motor skills, and careful handling of electronic components. You will regularly sit and use your hands to finger, handle, or feel parts, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequently lifting and moving items up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect detailed work. You will access digital drawings and manufacturing procedures through computer file systems and use scanners for timekeeping and work traveler tracking. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with established safety, quality, and housekeeping standards that you are expected to follow consistently, including appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plainview, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
