Job Description About Us The Crime Victims Center (CVC) is Long Island’s leading provider of trauma-informed support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. CVC partners closely with law enforcement and hospitals to provide immediate, on-site crisis response. Our Advocates and Rape Crisis Counselors (RCCs) deliver compassionate support in emergency departments for survivors of acute sexual assault. The Hotline Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Crime Victims Center’s Nassau County hotline, ensuring timely, compassionate, and trauma-informed responses to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. This role requires strong leadership, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to manage a team of hotline advocates while maintaining compliance with agency protocols, confidentiality and grant requirements. This role ensures operational excellence across the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Hotlines while advancing the agency’s mission through strategic partnerships and policy initiatives. General Responsibilities Hotline Operations • Supervise hotline staff and volunteers, ensuring coverage and quality of service, • Monitor CMS, response times, and documentation for accuracy and completeness, • Provide direct support and backup coverage during high-volume or crisis periods, • Ensure adherence to trauma-informed, survivor-centered protocols Staff Management & Training • Recruit, train, and mentor hotline advocates, • Conduct regular supervision and performance evaluations, • Coordinate ongoing training in crisis response, mandated reporting, and cultural competency Interagency Coordination • Liaise with law enforcement, hospitals, and partner agencies as needed, • Ensure timely referrals and follow-up for clients requiring additional services, • Represent the hotline program in community meetings and collaborative initiatives Compliance & Reporting • Maintain accurate records in the client management system, • Ensure compliance with funder requirements and agency policies, • Assist with data collection and reporting for grants and audits Development & Outreach (as applicable) • Support fundraising and development efforts by providing impact stories and program data, • Participate in outreach events and presentations to raise awareness of hotline services Survivor-Centered Services • Maintain a limited caseload of high-acuity clients, modeling best practices in advocacy, • Ensure services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to diverse survivor experiences, • Uphold confidentiality, safety planning, and informed consent in all interactions Supervisory: · Ensure quality control and accuracy of all agency hotline reports. · Assign cases to hotline advocates and provide supervisory guidance to all staff. · Ensure calendar coverage for 24-hour hotline and act as a back-up when coverage is needed. · Ensure Hotline Books are up-to-date. · Ensure Hotline logs are reviewed for quality services. · Conduct weekly meetings with advocacy staff to review cases, weekly and statistical reports. · Review OVS applications. · Collect and evaluate OVS functional time sheets on a monthly basis. · Complete agency statistical reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. · Coordinate with law enforcement on CVC referrals and conduct trainings for police and administrative personnel as assigned. · Make recommendations for the updating of agency policies and procedures. · Submit to regular audits of case files and statistical reports. · Perform personnel performance evaluations as directed. Victim Advocacy and Reporting: · You will be required to maintain a caseload, answer the Hotline and provide rape crisis emergency response during non-office hours. · Complete daily Data Reporting requirements. · Conduct and participate in advocacy trainings. · Attend specialized training to improve response to the needs of rape and sexual assault and all victims of violent crime. · Complete advocacy outreach initiatives as assigned. · Provide up to date training to all non advocacy staff that have telephone contact with any caller. · Complete crime victim comprehensive intakes (refer to intake forms) and make appropriate referrals for services, treatment, compensation, medical, legal, law enforcement and social services. Follow-up referrals given.
