Job DescriptionJob Title: Delivery DriverJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled delivery driver to manage transportation tasks efficiently. This role involves driving a 26-foot box truck through local, regional, or over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. Responsibilities • Safely drive and maneuver a 26-foot box truck through various routes., • Perform 'touch freight' duties, including manually loading, securing, and unloading cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or liftgates., • Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance., • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, manage hours of service (HOS), and maintain electronic logging device (ELD) records when required., • Interact professionally with clients or facility managers upon delivery, and accurately track delivery logs or receipts.Essential Skills, • Valid driver’s license, with CDL Class B preferred for specialized or heavier loads., • Must be at least 21 years old for insurance and DOT compliance., • Valid DOT medical card, even for non-CDL positions., • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and ability to pass a background check and drug screen., • Physical stamina to sit for long periods, walk, bend, and lift heavy items ranging from 50 to 75 lbs or more.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience driving a delivery box truck, specifically a 26-foot truck., • Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients.Why Work Here? You will operate a 26-foot box truck equipped with hand trucks, pallet jacks, or liftgates for loading and unloading tasks. The position involves various routes, and adherence to DOT regulations is mandatory. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay Shore, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
