Job Description OVERVIEW OF POSITION We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lawn Irrigation technician to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and service of irrigation systems, as well as landscape and hardscape projects. Additionally, they will be responsible for applying lawn chemicals in accordance with safety and environmental standards to maintain the health and appearance of our clients' and outdoor spaces. SCHEDULE * Monday through Friday and Occasional weekends when needed. * Please note if it is raining you will not be working and expected to work additional days in order to get the schedule back on track. * During the off season (December through February) client performs snow removal, masonry, and tree removal services and you will be scheduled when their is jobs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Lawn Irrigation Installations: Install and configure lawn irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip lines, and controllers. Ensure systems are set up for optimal water efficiency and coverage. * Sprinkler Service Calls: Respond to and troubleshoot service calls related to sprinkler and irrigation system malfunctions, including repairs, adjustments, and replacements. * Landscape and Hardscape Installations: Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of landscape features, such as planting, stonework, patios, and retaining walls. * Lawn Chemical Applications: Safely apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other lawn care chemicals, following all regulations and guidelines to ensure healthy turf and plant growth while minimizing environmental impact. * Client Communication: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring clear communication with clients regarding project progress, care instructions, and recommendations for ongoing maintenance. * Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot tools and equipment related to irrigation, landscaping, and lawn care. TRAINING/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED * An understanding of landscape terminology and plant materials * DEC 3A Tech License a Plus * 5 years minimum experience in the landscaping industry * 5 years minimum experience in the irrigation industry * 2 years minimum experience in landscape design * 2 years minimum experience in masonry design * Ability to fluently speak, read and write English. (Bilingual in Spanish is a plus) * A valid NYS Drivers License (CDL not required but a plus) * High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. * Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels of company staff. * Strong knowledge of landscaping maintenance and equipment. * Ability to learn quickly and apply concepts to different related areas of work. * Ability to recognize and analyze problems, and develop solutions. * Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and willingness to assist where necessary to meet goals of the company.
