Position Summary: The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating, tracking, verifying, and maintaining complete and accurate credentialing files for physicians, anesthesiologists, clinical employees, and designated non-clinical employees at Queens Surgical Center. This role supports operational readiness by ensuring all required credentials, approvals, licenses, certifications, registrations, health documents, and related records are current, complete, and audit ready. The position requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, deadline management, and timely escalation of missing or expired items. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate initial credentialing, recredentialing, and ongoing maintenance of provider and employee credentialing files., • Maintain complete, accurate, and current credentialing files for physicians, anesthesiologists, clinical staff, and designated non-clinical staff., • Track all required credentialing documents by role type, including issue dates, expiration dates, due dates, status, and next action required., • Maintain and update the master credentialing control spreadsheet and related tracking tools., • Create and maintain a monthly credentialing calendar for upcoming expirations, renewals, and deadlines., • Implement and manage 90/60/30-day reminder notices for expiring and upcoming credential items., • Send timely follow-up communications for missing, pending, incomplete, expired, or overdue documents., • Escalate unresolved or overdue items promptly to leadership., • Verify licenses, registrations, certifications, and other required credentials through primary or official sources, as applicable., • Conduct and document required screening checks, including exclusion and sanction checks, where applicable., • Maintain accurate active, inactive, and pending physician and anesthesiologist lists., • Confirm that scheduled clinical personnel have required approvals and valid credentials on file before they are scheduled to work., • Prepare weekly status reports for leadership summarizing active, inactive, and pending provider lists, outstanding credential items, follow-up actions taken, and matters requiring escalation., • Organize credentialing files and supporting documents so they are complete, accurate, and ready for internal review, leadership review, accreditation review, and audit., • Assist with onboarding-related credentialing documentation for new hires and new providers., • Maintain organized electronic and paper files in accordance with company policy., • Support tracking of annual compliance documents, renewals, acknowledgments, and required updates., • Assist with related reporting, data entry, and administrative support as assigned. Qualifications: • Associates or bachelors degree preferred., • 2+ years of credentialing, healthcare administration, medical staff services, HR administration, or related experience preferred., • Experience maintaining detailed tracking logs, spreadsheets, and document control systems., • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and file management skills., • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow through consistently., • Experience in a hospital, ambulatory surgery center, medical office, or other regulated healthcare environment preferred., • Familiarity with provider credentialing, recredentialing, and primary source verification preferred., • Familiarity with credentialing-related checks such as NPDB, OIG, OMIG, SAM, Work Location: In person | Based in Flushing, Queens.
