Job Description Prep Cook Position Overview: The Prep Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and other items needed for daily service. This role ensures that cooks can work efficiently during busy hours by keeping all items fresh, stocked, and ready for cooking. Key Responsibilities: • Wash, chop, and portion vegetables, meats, and seafood according to restaurant recipes., • Prepare Dumplings, Wontons, Rangoon, and other base ingredients ahead of service., • Label, date, and store all prepared items properly following food safety standards., • Monitor stock levels of prep ingredients and notify kitchen lead or chef when supplies are low., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, cutting boards, and storage areas., • Assist line cooks during rush periods as needed., • Follow portion and recipe guidelines to maintain consistency and quality., • Some kitchen experience preferred, but not required. (Chinese or Asian cuisine experience a plus)., • Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately., • Strong attention to cleanliness and organization., • Able to stand for long periods and handle knives safely., • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
