Job Description Core Responsibilities: SANITATION -Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, cups, glasses, flatware, kitchen items and equipment using dishwashers or by hand. -Stores clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas and workstations. -Sweep and mop kitchen work areas and storage rooms throughout and at end of shift. -Maintain cleanliness of restaurant garbage receptacles, dumpster area, and boxes through shift -Complete cleaning tasks within kitchen, storage areas and employee cafeteria. -Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of ice machines and storage bins. -Cleans and mops kitchen at end of night and as required. OPERATIONS -Collect garbage and breakdown boxes from back of house areas, employee cafeteria, and storage rooms. -Clean indoor and outdoor garbage receptacles, dumpster and dumpster areas, carts, coolers, shelving, counters, and racks -Clean kitchen dishwashing machine by changing water and cleaning exterior / interior parts regularly throughout shift. -Store cleaned dish items neatly, maintain organization of cutlery, plate wear, kitchen utensils, and misc. small wares on racks and shelving. -Assists cooks with prep work as needed for cooking or serving as needed. -Does general cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of kitchen and employee cafeteria equipment. -Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks. -Other duties as assigned. SAFTEY -Ensures that all levels for sanitizer on dish machine and pot sinks are maintained as per local health department and OSHA -Maintains all soap and, paper towel dispensers at all kitchen and restaurant work stations -Stocks supplies such as food, dishes, and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars. -Assists with accepting delivery items and storage of such items.• Communicate any repair needs, utilize wet floor signs, alert management of any safety hazards observed. -Complete tasks in a safe manner with proper use of tools and equipment SERVICE -Must Role Model Company guest service program and maintain professional interactions with guests and co-workers. -Must be certified in the approved, on-premises responsible alcohol service program. -Communicates with management after punching out or going on breaks. -Manages time and tasks efficiently, remains active and available for management and associates. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT -Dish machine, mops, brooms, buckets, cleaning supplies, chafing dishes, hot boxes, rolling carts, power washers, wet/dry vacuums, compactor, scales, hand truck, pallet jack and computer. WORK ENVIRONMENT Under variable temperature conditions, indoor / outdoor work as needed. -Under variable noise levels -Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -Ability to stand for long stretches of time, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms -Medium work - Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects -Ability to work long hours, some back-to-back shifts as needed -Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels -Near Vision – ability to see details at close range MENTAL REQUIREMENTS -Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly in English. -Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. -Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. -Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure or stressful situations. -Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and communicating needs of co-workers and guests. -Mathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand basic arithmetic functions. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS -High school diploma or equivalency degree preferred. -Must be able to obtain a New York State Gaming License. OTHER -Weekends, Holidays, overnight and swing shifts may be required, and scheduled shifts may vary based on operational needs. Reports to work on time and prepared for work. -Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. -Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, reports to work in a clean uniform and worn as defined in the SHM handbook when working. -Responds consistently and urgently to radio requests by associates and management. -Adheres to SHM handbook policies, standards, and personal conduct standards.
