Job Summary: Certerra’s Instrumentation and Monitoring Group is seeking a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager to support and lead instrumentation and monitoring projects in the Northeast region. This role involves managing all phases of monitoring projects—reviewing contract documents, coordinating field installations, overseeing data acquisition systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering environments and a hands-on approach to managing field and office operations. Duties: • Review project contract documents and specifications to develop instrumentation and monitoring plans., • Coordinate and oversee the installation of vibration monitors, inclinometers, crack gauges, settlement points, piezometers, and other geotechnical/structural instrumentation., • Lead and support field teams, subcontractors, and vendors during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities., • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and budgets; maintain clear client communication., • Analyze monitoring data and prepare technical reports documenting performance, trends, and compliance with threshold criteria., • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NYC DOB TPPN 10/88, NYC Building Code 3309.16, and project-specific guidelines., • Assist with procurement, resource planning, and safety compliance for field activities., • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required for PM, preferred for APM)., • 2-5+ years of experience in construction monitoring, geotechnical instrumentation, or structural engineering projects (Project Manager: 5+ years preferred)., • Familiarity with monitoring equipment and software such as vibration monitors, data loggers, total stations, and optical prisms., • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or data visualization tools is a plus., • Ability to work both in the field and office and travel to project sites throughout the Northeast region.
