Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The OB/GYN provides comprehensive women’s health care and preventive services. The physician treats patients during the prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods and conducts examinations using physical findings, laboratory results, and patient history to diagnose conditions. Based on clinical assessment, the physician determines appropriate care plans, including dietary modifications, physical activity recommendations, medications, or surgical interventions when indicated. The Obstetrician/Gynecologist delivers infants, performs cesarean sections and other necessary surgical procedures, and provides postpartum care to ensure the health and safety of both mother and infant. The physician also evaluates and treats conditions affecting the female reproductive system. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. The OB/GYN will work cooperatively with other allied health providers including nurses, medical team assistants, counselors, social workers, psychologist, psychiatrist, pharmacists, nutritionist and laboratory technologist in providing comprehensive team health care., 2. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic conditions related to women’s health across the lifespan., 3. Provide preventive and primary women’s health services, including periodic physical examinations, immunizations, health education, prenatal and postpartum care, and evidence-based preventive screenings., 4. Ensure appropriate referrals, care coordination, and follow-up for patients requiring inpatient or specialty services at affiliated hospitals or other approved facilities., 5. Participate in scheduled on-call coverage to support patient access to care outside of regular clinic hours, as required by Health Center policy., 6. Participate in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities, including chart reviews, performance improvement initiatives, data collection, and compliance with Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting requirements., 7. Participate in continuing Professional Education programs to provide CME credits per year., 8. To follow the guides as provided in the Policy and Procedures Manual for OB/GYN Medicine., 9. May be required to rotate across all Health Center sites to support business operations and ensure continuity of patient care. 10.May be required to perform other duties as assigned or when necessary. If such work becomes a permanent and regular part of the job, a new description will be prepared. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduate of an approved medical school, 2. M.D. Licensure in New York State, 3. Board certified or Board eligible in OB/GYN, 4. Credential approved by the Credentialing Committee, 5. BLS Required Medicaid Provider ID
