Will actively promote the health, safety and well-being of the people supported by providing hands-on assistance, mentoring and teaching independent living skills and providing services as directed in their Life Plan. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent required., • Clean, valid New York State driver’s license., • Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing., • The ability to obtain (within 90 days of hire) and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) Certification., • The ability to obtain (within 180 days of hire) and maintain SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Core Certification, CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Certification., • One (1) year experience with developmentally disabled population preferred., • The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
