Job DescriptionWe are hiring several experienced CARDIOTHORACIC Critical Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants on Long Island, NY! You will be practicing at the top end of the scope. Practice at the highest extent of your license! very high acuity environment! (and we will train for those with ICU backgrounds) We have full time permanent placements as well as part time and full time openings as a locum! The provider will cover the Cardiovascular ICU 100% of the time in the ICU! Candidate will work 3 12's per week, and we will block shifts together for days and night shifts. Cases include all open heart from CABGs to valves, plus heart and lung transplant. We are the tertiary center for all cases requiring MCS support, so we also do LVADs and a lot of ECMO as well. In the ICU: Our ACPS care for all of the patients mentioned above, they do all invasive lines, chest tubes, IABPs, help with cannulation of ECMO, and much of the management is driven by the advanced practice provider team! Job DescriptionSalary: 75 RN to patient ratio 1:4, ranging from young adult to geriatric • Monitoring patients with medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators and cardiac monitors, • Care for patients transitioning out of the ICU requiring more care and attention than patients on a general medical-surgical unit, • Frequent patient assessments and proper escalation of a patients change in medical condition, • Responding to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM ( 3 x 11.5hr shifts, alternate weekends) Reqs: • Evidence of graduation from an accredited National League of Nursing School. Baccalaureate degree or satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience, • Licensed to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, • Two years of the following experience is required: Medical/Surgical SD or ICU experience, IV Insertion, phlebotomy and conscious sedation, • BLS & ACLS certification, • Demonstrates satisfactory completion of age specific competency
