American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting, • Patient ratios are 1:1-2 for critical care and up to 1:3 for intermediate care, • Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:30, • Must work every other weekend and holidays as assigned, • Required to float to adolescent, pediatric, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and NICU units within skill set, • EPIC EMR system is used, EPIC experience required, • Primary responsibilities include providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients and participating in advanced monitoring and treatment interventions, • Candidates will join a multidisciplinary team and must be comfortable working in a high-acuity pediatric environment, • First-time travelers are accepted for this position, • Must be available to work two of three major holidays during contract, • Compliance with all orientation modules and pre-start education requirements is expected, • Candidates who have previously worked as staff or PRN at the health system must have a minimum of 1 year separation before being eligible for travel assignments, • Floating assignments may affect patient ratios based on census and acuity, • Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of application, • Minimum of 1.5 years prior PICU RN experience required, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; NIHSS preferred, • Proficiency required in CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation, PEWs, insulin administration and pumps, NG tube and IV management (including ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, ventilator and trach care, management of renal failure, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, trauma; ECMO experience preferred, • Ability to float to multiple pediatric specialty areas as needed\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
