What You’ll Do: Collect high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safe and accurate procedures. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, following established protocols to maintain integrity and reliability of results. Explain procedures to patients with professionalism and empathy, creating a respectful and calming environment that fosters trust. Maintain precise records of specimen collection, patient information, and associated documentation. Follow all safety, confidentiality, and health regulations to uphold a secure and professional environment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Demonstrate leadership behaviors by showing initiative, accuracy, and a commitment to excellence in every task. Support process improvement initiatives and uphold the organization’s reputation for patient-centered care. Required Skills: Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws, with a demonstrated focus on safety and patient comfort. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and specimen labeling. Excellent customer service abilities, with the capacity to communicate clearly and compassionately. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in keyboarding, data entry, and basic computer skills to support record-keeping and communication. Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures to maintain compliance and a safe clinical environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, based on staffing needs. Nice to Have: Medical assistant or paramedic training. Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states such as California, Nevada, and Washington), which enhances your candidacy. Previous experience in a retail or service environment, emphasizing strong customer interaction. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Preferred Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience; over one year of hands-on blood collection preferred. Additional healthcare training such as medical assistant or paramedic background is advantageous. Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service setting. Additional Requirements: Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in specific states. Physical capacity to perform blood draws, including standing for extended periods and handling equipment. Willingness to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information responsibly. Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and caring demeanor.
