Job Description Job Description The Shipyard EMT is responsible for providing immediate emergency medical care and support to personnel at a shipyard or maritime industrial facility. This role requires a proactive approach to workplace health and safety, with a strong emphasis on emergency preparedness, rapid response, and coordination with safety personnel. The EMT also assists in maintaining health and safety compliance and may perform limited occupational health duties. Key Responsibilities: • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and incidents across the shipyard., • Perform basic and advanced first aid, CPR, and emergency medical procedures within the scope of EMT certification., • Conduct medical assessments and triage to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses., • Stabilize patients and coordinate transportation to external medical facilities when needed., • Maintain accurate and confidential patient care reports and incident logs., • Inspect and maintain medical supplies, first aid stations, and emergency equipment throughout the shipyard., • Participate in safety drills, emergency response training, and health and safety audits., • Collaborate with safety, environmental, and operations teams to support a safe working environment., • Provide education and training on basic first aid, CPR, and injury prevention to employees., • Assist in medical clearances, drug testing, and occupational health screenings if applicable. Qualifications: Required: • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Current certification as an EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic (State and/or National Registry)., • CPR/AED certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)., • 1–2 years of EMT experience, preferably in industrial, construction, or maritime environments., • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Maritime Certification., • Experience working in a shipyard, port, or heavy industrial setting., • Familiarity with OSHA, USCG, and other maritime safety regulations., • Ability to lift, carry, and move patients or equipment up to 50 lbs., • Capable of working in physically demanding and high-stress environments., • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in confined spaces., • $22/HR to $27/HR DOE, • Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and training allowances.
