Job DescriptionSalary: $85 Job Summary: A Registered Nurse in the Radiology department is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing various radiological procedures. This role involves collaborating with radiologists, radiologic technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during imaging studies. Key Responsibilities: • Patient Assessment: Perform thorough assessments of patients scheduled for radiological procedures. Evaluate their medical history, current condition, and any special needs or considerations., • Preparation and Education: Prepare patients for radiological examinations by explaining the procedure, addressing their concerns, and obtaining informed consent when necessary., • Medication Administration: Administer medications as ordered by physicians, including contrast agents, sedatives, or pain management medications. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions., • Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort. Assess vital signs, patient responses, and any signs of distress., • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, such as allergic reactions or cardiac events, and initiate appropriate interventions promptly., • Radiation Safety: Ensure patients and staff are protected from unnecessary radiation exposure by following safety protocols and guidelines., • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with radiologists, radiologic technologists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and provide information regarding patient conditions., • Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes., • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, needs, and preferences throughout their radiology experience., • Infection Control: Follow strict infection control practices to prevent the spread of infections within the radiology department. Qualifications: • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice., • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not always required., • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required., • Knowledge of radiological procedures, equipment, phlebotomy and safety protocols., • Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure., • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
