Job Description Akkodis is seeking a NOC Technician for a Contract with a client in Melville, NY. You will monitor network events and perform initial triage in a 24x7 environment, ensuring timely escalation and resolution. Rate Range: $32.99/hour to $34.99/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. NOC Technician job responsibilities include: * Monitor critical network systems 24x7x365, respond to alarms, and initiate incident management processes. * Answer customer support calls, create tickets, and perform initial triage for issue resolution. * Diagnose hardware, software, and system issues, resolving problems using documented processes and run books. * Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams and maintain accountability for incident tickets until closure. * Communicate updates and notifications to customers and internal stakeholders according to defined procedures. * Ensure accurate ticket handover during shift changes and maintain compliance with operational guidelines. Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * 1–2 years of experience in telecommunications or a similar technical field. * Ability to diagnose hardware, software, and system issues in a 24x7 operational environment. * Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., SONET, IP subnetting, Layer 2/3 routing) and familiarity with optical platforms and NMS/EMS systems. Job Description The Help Desk duties which may include, but are not limited to: Providing outstanding customer service for Tier 1 service requests, incidents, and problems reported by Clients. The Technician will troubleshoot and resolve technical and procedural issues in an efficient and timely fashion over the phone, in person and through remote connectivity software. Help requests will come from our clients through email, phone calls, or the help desk system. The Help Desk Technician will ensure that all Service Desk requests, incidents, and problems are entered into ticket tracking system with accurate, detailed information. This position is also responsible for procurement, issuance, tracking of new and/or replacement computers/peripheral devices for customers as needed, ensuring replacement device is working properly. Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required.
