Job Description Position Summary: The Program Director for the Bachelor of Science, Nursing provides academic, administrative, and professional leadership for a CCNE-accredited undergraduate nursing program. The Program Director is responsible for program quality, curricular integrity, student learning and outcomes, accreditation compliance, and alignment with institutional mission and strategic priorities. The BS Nursing program is delivered through a 1+2+1 collaborative model in partnership with St. Peter’s School of Nursing, requiring close coordination across institutions to ensure curricular continuity, regulatory compliance, and student success. The Program Director exercises primary authority over nursing curriculum, assessment, clinical education, and program accreditation, consistent with the requirements of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED). The Program Director reports to the Chair of the Department of Allied Health Sciences for administrative coordination, faculty processes, and institutional alignment, and works closely with the Dean of the School of Health Sciences on accreditation-related matters, as appropriate. This is a full-time faculty position (0.5 FTE) with an associated administrative role (0.5 FTE). Program Leadership and Governance • Provide leadership for all academic, curricular, and operational aspects of the BS Nursing program., • Ensure the program maintains a clear identity aligned with professional nursing standards, workforce needs, and institutional mission., • Provide academic leadership and coordination for the BS Nursing program across the 1+2+1 partnership with St. Peter’s School of Nursing, ensuring alignment of curriculum, policies, assessment practices, and student progression across institutions., • Represent the nursing program within departmental, School, and College governance structures., • Collaborate with the Department Chair and Dean on strategic planning, enrollment management, resource needs, and program sustainability., • Serve as the primary lead for CCNE and NYSED accreditation and ongoing compliance., • Prepare, submit, and maintain all required accreditation documentation, including self-studies, annual reports, and substantive change materials., • Coordinate and lead accreditation site visits and ensure institutional readiness for reviews., • Exercise primary responsibility for the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the BS Nursing curriculum., • Ensure curriculum alignment with CCNE standards, NYSED requirements, AACN Essentials, and evidence-based nursing practice., • Oversee curricular coherence across didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical components., • Coordinate with academic leadership and faculty at St. Peter’s School of Nursing to ensure curricular alignment, sequencing, and seamless student transition across the 1+2+1 model., • Provide oversight and collaborate with St. Peter’s Health Partners for all clinical education components of the BS Nursing program., • Coordinate with our clinical partners to organize events like White Coat Ceremony for the students., • Develop, maintain, and evaluate clinical partnerships, affiliation agreements, and preceptor relationships., • Collaborate with St. Peter’s School of Nursing to align clinical education expectations, student evaluation and progression processes, and accreditation requirements across the partnered phases of the program., • Coordinate with program faculty and direct program-level assessment of student learning outcomes, clinical competencies, retention, licensure readiness, and program effectiveness., • Analyze assessment and outcomes data in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to inform continuous quality improvement initiatives., • Ensure systematic use of data to guide curricular revisions, resource planning, and strategic decision-making., • Provide academic leadership and instructional oversight for faculty teaching in the BS Nursing program., • Participate in the recruitment, orientation, mentoring, and evaluation of full-time and adjunct nursing faculty., • Provide leadership for program-level advising, student progression, and retention strategies., • Collaborate with College student support services to monitor student academic and clinical performance and implement early interventions as needed., • Serve as the first point of escalation for unresolved program-level student academic or clinical concerns, consistent with College policies., • Collaborate with admissions and marketing to support recruitment, enrollment, and yield for the BS Nursing program., • Participate in recruitment events, information sessions, and admitted student programming., • Contribute program-specific expertise to recruitment strategies and outreach initiatives., • Support enrollment planning aligned with clinical capacity and accreditation requirements., • Provide academic oversight of program admissions standards, prerequisites, and selection criteria, consistent with CCNE requirements and institutional policies., • Collaborate with enrollment management and admissions to support application review, candidate evaluation, and admissions decisions for the BS Nursing program., • Maintain productive relationships with clinical partners, healthcare organizations, advisory committee members, and community stakeholders., • Support articulation agreements, transfer pathways, and collaborative educational models, including co-registered and partnered curricula., • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, consistent with NYSED and CCNE requirements., • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in New York State., • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in nursing education, including demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation., • Demonstrated knowledge of CCNE accreditation standards and regulatory compliance., • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
