HPA Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner General Surgery for a locum tenens job in Edison, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: General Surgery, • Discipline: Nurse Practitioner, • Start Date: 01/19/2026, • Duration: 2 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, • Shift: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM (13-hour night shifts)\n\t, • Schedule: Flexible; ideally 2–3 shifts per week\n\t, • Assignment Length: 10–12 months\n\t, • Start Date: As soon as credentialed (temp privileges may be considered)\n\t, • Setting: Inpatient surgical unit – no first assist, no OR, no call\n\t, • Volume: ~40–50 patients per night (shared by 2 APPs)\n\t, • Procedures Include:\n\t\n\t\t, • VAC dressing changes\n\t\t, • JP drain/chest tube management\n\t\t, • NGT placement/monitoring\n\t\t, • Doppler use for vascular monitoring (flap patients)\n\t\n\t\n\t, • Joint Commission–certified agency\n\t, • Prepaid travel/lodging available (for non-local providers)\n\t, • Malpractice insurance included at no cost\n\n\n\n\nSkills & Experience\n\n\n\t, • Board-certified NP or PA with NJ license\n\t, • DEA and CDS required\n\t, • 1–2+ years of relevant inpatient surgical or hospitalist experience\n\t, • Confident in overnight floor management and procedural skills\n\t Proudly Joint Commission Certified, HPA Healthcare is a woman and minority owned company based in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina; we’re all about connecting talented clinicians with hospitals and clinics across the country.
