This role will support our Mental Health and Hygiene practice group and is based in Lake Success, NY. Key Responsibilities • Draft litigation documents, including motions, orders, and post-judgment papers, • Draft correspondence and court-related documents in accordance with judicial procedures, • Prepare, organize, and maintain files in both paper and electronic formats, • Maintain detailed Outlook calendars, including scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings, • Knowledge of guardianship pleadings and proceedings is helpful, • Manage administrative duties including arranging conference calls and meetings, copying, scanning, printing, and file maintenance, • Create, edit, format, and proofread letters, memoranda, and other documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, • Request conflict checks, open new client matters, and submit electronic approvals as needed, • Liaise directly with clients and third parties throughout all phases of litigation and/or case resolution, • Answer phone calls and take accurate messages for multiple attorneys while managing calendars, • Assist with additional ad hoc projects as needed Paralegal Requirements • Experience drafting legal documents throughout all phases of litigation, including discovery requests, RJIs, motions, stipulations, subpoenas, notices, and post-judgment papers, • Experience formatting briefs and preparing exhibit books, • OCR document experience, • Experience filing court documents, including e-filing in both state and federal courts (NYSCEF and ECF), • Experience tracking court dates and deadlines, • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with strong organizational skills, • Eagerness to learn and take initiative, • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Westlaw, Litify, or similar systems, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a polished presentation Knowledge, Skills & Attributes • 35 years of experience providing administrative and litigation support in a law firm environment, • Paralegal Certificate preferred, • Strong client service and problem-solving skills, • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities, • Familiarity with law firm billing systems (Litify or equivalent preferred, not required), • Proactive and anticipatory work style, • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $55,000$65,000, commensurate with experience We offer a competitive benefits package, including: • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Paid Holidays, • 401(k), • Medical and Life Insurance, • Employee Referral Program, • Mentoring and professional development opportunities, • And more!
