Job Description Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports, they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today. CAMBA operates 6 single adult shelters and 6 family shelters and one drop in center. Each shelter offers clients a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug-free facility. Homeless (often mentally-ill and substance-abusing) men and women are provided with comprehensive services to stabilize their condition in order to successfully transition into to permanent and/or supported housing. CAMBA’s Flagstone Family Center provides comprehensive case management services to 160 families who are in a Tier II transitional residence program for homeless families. The facility consists of eight (8) four (4) story walk up apartment buildings on the east and west sides of the street. There will be two main entrances: one for the east side of the street and one for the west. Each building contains 20 apartments of varying sizes, each fully self-contained. Position: Recreation Aide Reports To: Supervisor I (Recreation) Location: Brooklyn, NY11212 What The Recreation Aide Does: • Assist with the teaching of physical education, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, sports, ADL or other recreational activities., • Help plan, coordinate and facilitate social and/or peer support events for clients., • Organize, and co-facilitate group community activities., • Assist with the design and production of aesthetic visuals for public spaces of the shelter which reflect cultural, seasonal and programmatic themes., • Communicate effectively with clients, CAMBA staff, and community members and with funders., • Track and keep records of equipment and supplies used., • Ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used properly., • Monitor clients' progress toward their goals (dates achieved) and document via progress notes., • Market the program in order to recruit clients., • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports., • May conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients’ situations and needs., • May prepare marketing materials for the program., • May create and maintain client files., • May input client data and client progress information into automated database., • Must obtain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance, The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect aka Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance and Criminal history information checks via fingerprinting with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services prior to start of employment. Job Description ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: The internationally renowned Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) has received "highest praise for their technical aplomb, their musicality, and their sheer human authenticity." Founded in 1980, the Dance Group performs the repertory of choreographer Mark Morris, hailed as the "the most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical" (The New York Times), whose work is acclaimed for its ingenuity, musicality, wit, and humanity. Live music and community engagement are vital components of the Dance Group. It has toured with its own musicians, the MMDG Music Ensemble, since 1996, and regularly collaborates with orchestras and opera companies around the world. In addition to 12 full-time dancers, the organization currently employs approximately 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. In the heart of the Brooklyn Cultural District, the Mark Morris Dance Center, founded in 2001, is the hub of dance and music education in Brooklyn. The nine-studio building provides affordable classes in multiple genres for people of all ages, levels, with and without disabilities, accompanied by live music. The studios, a performance space, a Wellness Center, and ancillary spaces are all available to the community and to nonprofit organizations at subsidized rates. MMDG's Community Education Programs partner with public and private schools and community centers to provide customized classes. Job Summary: The Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) seeks a part-time Marketing Assistant to join a highly motivated, results-driven marketing team dedicated to advancing the reputation and brand visibility of the Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble, while expanding awareness of the Mark Morris Dance Center and the Dance for PD® program. The Marketing Assistant will support the execution of MMDG's marketing and content strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels, with a particular emphasis on content creation and email marketing. This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager. The successful candidate will join a collaborative community of passionate arts and administrative professionals inspired by Mark Morris's commitment to artistic excellence, access to the arts, and the power of the arts to connect and engage communities.
