American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVPICU for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVPICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/03/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) with a pediatric critical care patient population, • Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed, with additional floating possible based on skills and hospital needs, • Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30, • Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) coverage required, • 19-bed CVPICU unit with a patient ratio of 1:2 or more depending on acuity, • Care for post-cardiac surgery and transplant patients, including those with ASD, VSD, AV Canal defect, valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, cardiac cath/ablations, • Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring equipment, • Experience with BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, and trach patients required, • EPIC charting system is used, • Provide specialized nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular and critical care patients, including those recovering from major cardiac surgeries or transplants, • Must be available for two out of three major holidays, • Scrubs required in navy blue, • Team structure includes multidisciplinary support for complex cardiac and intensive care, • All modules and EPIC training must be completed pre-start, • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred, • Minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of pediatric cardiac experience, both documented, • Competence in caring for post-cardiac surgical pediatric patients, • Experience with telemetry monitoring and Medtronic pacemakers required, • Experience with advanced respiratory support devices required, • EPIC charting experience preferred, • First-time travelers will not be considered, • Returning employees must have been gone from the health system for at least 1 year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
