Job Title: Nursing Shift Supervisor Department: Long Term Care Location: Clifton Springs Nursing Home Hours Per Week: 0 Schedule: Per Diem, D/E/N SUMMARY: * The Off Shift Director of Nursing is a Nursing Leader who serves as a resource for problem solving, provides clinical expertise, facilitates staff mentoring and coaching, facilitates patient flow during the off shifts (typically, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) RESPONSIBILITIES: * RESPONSIBILITIES: · Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines. · Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed. · Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements. · Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated. · Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan. · Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration. · Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records. · Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program · One to three years of nursing experience required. · Registered in NYS as a registered nurse professional. . Basic Life Support (BLS) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s degree preferred. · LT PAC nursing experience preferred. · One year of supervisory experience preferred.
