Job Description About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead all aspects of our hybrid boutique training gym. Our studio blends structured group fitness classes, personal training, and limited open gym access. This role requires thoughtful floor management, strong operational standards, and a commitment to delivering an excellent member experience. The General Manager is responsible for sales performance, staff leadership, member experience, and day-to-day fitness studio operations across all service lines. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for the studio and requires an engaged, visible leader who is actively involved in daily operations. This position includes direct leadership of both front desk staff and coaches/trainers, supporting them day to day while setting expectations and maintaining consistent standards across the studio. This is not a corporate big-box gym role, and it is not a single-modality boutique studio. Success in this position requires comfort managing multiple revenue streams, leading teams with clarity, and balancing a high-touch member experience with strong operational discipline. Core Responsibilities Operations & Systems • Oversee daily fitness studio operations, ensuring smooth execution, organization, and cleanliness across group classes, personal training, and open gym usage, • Maintain and improve operational systems, schedules, and workflows to support all service offerings, • Own membership sales performance and overall revenue accountability, • Oversee lead management, follow-up, onboarding, and ongoing member engagement, • Support personal training utilization, package tracking, and renewals, • Oversee billing, collections, cancellations, and account issues in alignment with company policy, • Lead, train, and manage front desk staff and coaches/trainers, • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance and professionalism, • Manage staff scheduling and coverage across all operating hours, • Serve as the escalation point for member concerns and account matters, • Build strong relationships with members and maintain a visible presence on the floor, • Provide regular updates to ownership on performance, priorities, and challenges, • 3–7+ years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or Studio Manager in a fitness, training, or service-based environment, • Experience overseeing both group fitness programming and personal training operations, • Strong background in sales leadership, staff management, and daily operations, • Comfortable enforcing policies and handling difficult conversations with staff and members, • Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented, • A leader who takes ownership of outcomes and follows through, • Comfortable operating in an owner-led, fast-paced environment, • Able to balance excellent member experience with firm policy enforcement, • Competitive base salary at $70,000, • Performance-based bonus tied to defined business metrics (included in pay range), • Paid time off and company-recognized holidays Please submit your resume and a brief note outlining your experience managing both group classes and personal training in a fitness or training environment.
