Job Description Title: Shift Supervisor Location: TBD Pay Range: $24.72 per hour (effectively $45,000 per year) FLSA Classification: Full-time (35 hours), Non-exempt Role Summary: The successful candidate will be under the supervision of the Security Director and Site Director. The primary responsibility will be to oversee and instruct the security staff of their assigned facility. The shift supervisor will be required to provide direction and assistance to both Residence Workers and Security Guards, ensuring a safe environment for both employees and clients. Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties: The Shift Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to: • Monitor the clients, units, and grounds at all times to ensure the security and safety of each resident, • Examine all items entering the facility to ensure client and staff safety, • Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed, • Record incidents and residents’ grievances appropriate in log book and on incident report, • Maintain ongoing communication with all department supervisors concerning social services issues, • Manage entry logs to ensure all persons entering the facility are recorded and accounted for, • Inspect all cleaning and service chores assigned to program aides to ensure completion, • Participate in the development of site goals and objectives by making recommendations that can aide in site efficiency, • Assist clients with questions and resolving any issue as they may arise, • Monitor video surveillance of all areas of the facility, • Adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines; policies and procedures, • Report any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel, • Work diplomatically to solve issues that may arise, • Provide coverage when necessary, • May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, • Perform all other required duties to ensure the facility is running efficiently Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surface, • Ability to climb stairs occasionally during shift, • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks., • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Work Environment / Schedule Requirements: • Office setting with regular exposure to computer screens and moderate noise levels., • May be required to work shifts, including evenings or night tours and/or Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with holiday pay differential., • Transitional Housing Program staff are required to continue their shift until relieved by another staff member or authorized to leave by a supervisor. Qualifications: • NYS Security License, F-80 Certificate of Fitness, CPR/Basic First Aid certification., • Minimum High School Diploma / GED, • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in working with clients, • General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred, • Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines and standards, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, • Commitment to excellence and high standards, • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions, • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively, • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes., • Must pass drug screening to be appointed., • This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment. Job Description RiseWell Community Services is seeking a Full Time Overnight Case Managers to play a pivotal role on one the Governor’s offices newly launched innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team that that will provide comprehensive care to street homeless or subway dwelling individuals in Brooklyn & Queens. In this role, you will work as a member of the Overnight multi-disciplinary team to assess health and social needs of the homeless population. Which will include late evening to early morning hours (including weekends and weekdays). This includes but is not limited to assisting the team with: community outreach/canvassing, specifically on the streets and subways throughout the Brooklyn/Queens area, coordinating participant’s referral with appropriate overnight facilities, accompany, advocacy, and assist on ensuring warm hand offs and follow-ups are maintain with SOS day teams, etc. Maintaining collaborative relationships with community partners including the Department of Homeless Services, MTA, local law enforcement, community hospitals, existing outreach teams and housing drop-in shelter. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 4 years of experience in case management. Bachelor's degree in Human Services preferred with previous case management experience. The three story facility has rooms of various sizes, common areas and provides on-site security and social services Position: Shift Supervisor Reports To: Assistant Program Director Location: 94-00 Ditmars Blvd Queens, NY 11369 What The Shift Supervisor Does: • Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality., • Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures., • Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information., • Input client data using DHS’ CARES database, as needed., • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, supervisors, and funders., • Ensure regulatory compliance is met per NYS DHS, NYS OTDA, NYC FDNY, NYC Dept. of Health, NYC Coalition for the Homeless, etc, is adhered to. (i.e., log book entries, bed checks, client belongings, security, client care, medication, etc)., • Ensure security and residential aide and social service staff conduct new client orientation within 24 hours of entry into the facility., • Ensure the safety and security of operations of the shift by maintaining adequate staffing levels., • Must remain on-site to provide supervisory coverage at all times, including lunch breaks, when working shifts as the only on-site Shift Supervisor., • Ensure inventory of security equipment is up to date., • Ensure security of valuables and medications in a safe or cabinet., • Retrieve, observe and document client’s self-administration of medications, as appropriate., • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day functions of the facility ensuring programming, rounds, and client care services are occurring., • Professionally respond to complaints, incidents and emergencies and/or incidents and interview all parties, analyze, collect data, document and report the situation., • Resolve individual conflicts and disputes between staff or clients in a respectful and solution based manner., • Lead and participate in program meetings as requested., • Engage clients to address issues that arise on the shift and document and communicate via written logs, face-to-face meetings etc. to ensure appropriate staff are aware., • Monitor clients’ safety and ensure safety policies and procedures are practiced daily., • Overcome resistance to change from clients., • Provide all required information for shift reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders., • In the absence of adequate staffing, will have direct service/program responsibility in addition to the above., • Enforce and adhere to the Good Neighbor Policy and respond to community concerns when appropriate., • Develop content for client programming to maximize contract goals and performance targets., • Conduct initial intake or initial and/or periodic assessments of clients, • Prepare marketing materials for the program., • Reach out and market the program to the community in order to obtain resources for clients., • HS Diploma or GED and 3 years applicable experience, or Associate’s degree (A.A.) and 2 years applicable experience, or Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and/or equivalent experience., • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification., • Must obtain and maintain certification in overdose prevention., • Must obtain and maintain F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, • F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator Certificate holder, • Sensitivity and awareness of working with homeless and vulnerable populations is a plus.
