Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Stands at a post and maintains orderly flow of individuals on entering and leaving., • Identifies employees and visitors entering or leaving the building by recognition of faces/ID badges., • Observes departing individuals who carry unusually large packages or bundles to prevent the theft of government property such as office equipment, books, films, and so forth, and determines if the individual warrants searching., • Observes individuals entering and leaving premises to ensure their safe and orderly conduct., • Knowledge of security measures in detaining persons., • Preparedness to react promptly to situations requiring action., • Propensity to remain alert while performing repetitive duties., • Ability to maintain order among visitors., • Knowledge of procedures to follow in dealing with an emergency., • Capacity to put up with and handle verbal abuse from a person or a group.
