The Role: Location: New York, NY Reports to: Vice President of Finance & Administration The New Museum seeks an experienced and strategic General Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor to the Museum's senior leadership team and Board of Trustees. The General Counsel will provide comprehensive legal guidance across all Museum operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting the Museum's mission to support and present new art and new ideas. Along with Executive Steward, ensure proper implementation of NYC Dept. of Health requirements and ordinances and CDC sanitation guidelines to ensure a clear and safe work environment., • Enforce safety procedures and cleanliness standards throughout kitchen(s) including walk-in and reach-in boxes, • Assist with maintaining labor costs and labor budget, • Assist in the transport of perishable and non-perishable assets between the venues and other locations; to include off premises., • Maintain control over inventory of China, glass and silver and maintain the supply of necessary equipment to all venue., • Assist with requisitioning equipment for events and responsible for ensuring food service equipment is secure and maintained in proper order. Specific Vocational Preparation: Specific vocational training includes an occupationally significant combination of: vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher job or serving in other jobs, over 1 year up to and including 2 years. An Associates or Bachelor degree or higher education preferred.
