Job DescriptionThis position will perform routine and non-routine maintenance, diagnostic and repair work on vehicles (buses, vans etc.) which adheres to First Student standards. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles more complex problems and can resolve independently. All work is performed with a commitment to safety. May mentor or provide informal guidance to other Technicians in the shop. Also, may act as a Shift Foreman and may receive a shift premium. In the state of Washington, this position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis.$36.07/hr based on CBAMajor Responsibilities • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with minimal supervision on both basic and complex maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components., • Perform mechanical repairs under minimal supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs., • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers., • Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. May perform diagnostic tests utilizing a computer and manufacturer's software to determine mechanical defects., • Lead preventative maintenance (PM's), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage, • Remove, overhaul and reinstallation of mechanical components with minimal Tech in Charge supervision, • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken, • Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required, • Leads road calls and emergency services as necessary, • Adhere to FirstGroup standards, policies and procedures, • Moves vehicles safely between job and work area, • Repair and maintain all shop equipment, • Other responsibilities as requested or required Minimum Education or Certifications Required • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred), • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire), • State inspection license (if required), • ASE Certification preferred. Job Description A Direct Support Professional works under the direction of the Program Supervisor to support and assist with providing direction and support to program participants in their day-to-day activities, services, and goals. Functions: Create and carry out a schedule of activities that enhance core skills such as, but not limited to, communication and socialization, self-advocacy, hygiene and grooming, knowledge of available community resources, health and wellness, housekeeping and travel and safety skills. Acclimate and orient individuals served to community-based volunteer sites as well as review all safety precautions and preparedness routines. Train individuals in tasks expected at volunteer sites when indicated. Develop, create, and implement coaching strategies to expedite skill acquisition for those served, and always maximize independence. Ensure the well-being and safety of all individuals served, including providing travel training skills to and from community-based locations. Help maintain a sanitary and safe environment both in the facility and at community routine placements. Report all equipment and/or maintenance needs in a timely manner. Document services provided in compliance with agency, local, state and federal regulations within expected time frames. Drive participants to and from activities throughout the day. Attend team meetings, professional development opportunities and parent conferences. Job DescriptionDescription: Job Purpose: The Enrollment Specialist is responsible for assessing and supporting volunteers and children in one-on-one mentoring relationships through the enrollment process for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. This role works closely with parents/guardians and community partners to facilitate positive mentorship relationships. The Enrollment Specialist will ensure a seamless and efficient enrollment process for all participants. Duties & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Assess the eligibility of volunteers and mentees for participation in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program., • Conduct volunteer enrollment processes, including:, • Individual orientations, interviews, home visits, and other relevant steps., • Facilitate client enrollments by conducting parent/child interviews, providing child safety education, and completing enrollment procedures., • Identify families needing alternative or additional services and make appropriate referrals., • Maintain ongoing engagement with Ready to be Matched (RTBM) youth and families through regularly scheduled updates and activities., • Partner with schools to foster appropriate youth referrals., • Review and follow up on references to gather additional information for assessments., • Conduct volunteer and client reassessments as needed., • Identify and remove any barriers that may interfere with the enrollment process., • Analyze all enrollment information to recommend participants for the program and match volunteers with children based on qualifications and interests., • Consult with other staff members as needed for matching decisions., • Provide thorough assessments and match recommendations for participants based on individual evaluations., • Maintain accurate, timely records for each match, leveraging technology for data reporting and analysis., • Facilitate in-person match meetings and manage schedules to accommodate volunteers and families., • Provide ongoing support for matches, focusing on child safety, relationship development, positive youth outcomes, and volunteer satisfaction., • Utilize active listening and questioning techniques to coach match participants and ensure clear communication., • Apply child safety and risk management protocols across all aspects of the role., • Identify and address potential challenges within matches and intervene to support successful resolutions., • Develop strategic interventions for matches requiring extra support to foster positive relationships., • Conduct and track match surveys to assess the impact of the program and meet goals for completion rates., • Conduct exit interviews for match closures, assessing reasons and potential for re-matching., • Support the agency's philanthropic efforts by fostering potential donor relationships and business partnerships., • Represent the organization positively within the community and collaborate with internal teams on additional projects as needed., • Attend training sessions and meetings as directed by the supervisor., • Additional duties as assigned.
