About the Role: The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by providing essential support to medical professionals and enhancing patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, and managing medical records. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience., • High School Diploma or equivalent required, • Medical Assistant Certification required, • Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification, • Two years’ experience working in the health care field, • Capacity for covering Medical Assistants at all sites as needed, • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole required., • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in a medical office or hospital., • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)., • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and assisting with physical exams., • Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, ensuring proper sterilization and handling of medical instruments., • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, providing necessary support and ensuring patient comfort., • Manage administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records., • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up on treatment plans., • Promptly greets, assists, and directs patients and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner., • Responsible for patient check-in, registration, and check-out., • Instructs patient/guardian of documentation required for visit. On subsequent visits, verifies demographic and billing information to ensure accuracy., • Obtains patient demographic and insurance information, verifies insurance eligibility, and enters accurate information in the electronic health record., • Provides patients with an explanation of all registration forms, obtain patient/guardian signatures on required consents and acknowledgements, and scan all accurately completed registration forms in the electronic health record., • Navigates through insurance portals and accurately interprets coverage information such as the plan coverage description, copayment, primary care provider, etc./, • Schedules patients’ appointments in accordance with criteria established by the health center., • Performs appointment reminder calls and no-show calls., • Performs other clerical duties such as filling, photocopying, and scanning of medical records., • Assists with the preparation of patients prior to seeing practitioners., • Assists the practitioners with patient care in the conduct of clinical examinations and materials preparation, i.e., dressing changes, Pap Smear, etc., • Acts as a translator for patients as needed, • Responsible for taking vital signs, administering tuberculin tests, and performing procedures for specimen collection, routine eye screening, hearing tests, hematocrit, urinalysis, and urine culture, • Performs EKG and simple laboratory procedures, • Distributes lab reports to practitioners for review, • Provides patient counseling regarding procedures (Ex. lab tests), • Assist in the maintenance of inventories and stocking of supplies in examination rooms, nursing, and lab areas, • Maintains logs of required data as needed, • Communicates and coordinates with clinical and school staff to ensure timely patient care., • Acts as the patient’s advocate and liaison for preservation of patient's rights, • Participates in off-site screening projects as needed, • Participates in departmental QA and other patient related committees as needed, • Participates in outreach and community screenings as needed, • Participates in case management and patient surveys in maintaining quality assurance The required skills of medical assisting, phlebotomy, and vital signs monitoring are essential for daily patient interactions and clinical procedures. Job DescriptionAbout The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Analyst to support quality assurance efforts across Brighton Health Plan Solutions’ core portfolios—Claims, Provider, and Enrollment. In this role, you will contribute to both functional testing and automation activities, helping strengthen QA processes. You will play a key part in ensuring high-quality software delivery by validating business requirements, improving test practices, supporting limited automation initiatives, and collaborating closely with technical and business teams.Primary Responsibilities QA Strategy & Leadership • Contribute to building a consistent QA approach across multiple portfolios (Claims, Provider, Enrollment), to improve test efficiency, traceability, and quality metrics., • Assist in establishing reusable processes, documentation standards, and quality checkpoints., • Promote early testing practices and support shift-left collaboration within Agile/Scrum teams., • Support leadership in maturing QA workflows and cross-team coordinationFunctional QA & Validation, • Develop comprehensive test cases, acceptance criteria, and test data based on business and technical requirements., • Perform hands-on functional, integration, and regression testing across applications and data workflows., • Validate end-to-end business processes such as claims adjudication, provider data updates, enrollment transactions, pricing, and benefits logic., • Participate in defect triage, root-cause discussions, and timely defect escalation.Test Automation Support, • Support existing automation efforts by maintaining or executing automated tests for data loads, data validations, volume testing etc., • Contribute to creating or enhancing small-scale scripts for repetitive regression or smoke testing where automation adds value., • Leverage tools such as Selenium, Unix Shell Scripting or similar to supplement manual test coverage., • Participate in agile test execution where applicable, in collaboration with developers.Cross-Functional Collaboration, • Work closely with business analysts, developers, product owners, and external vendors to ensure quality is embedded in the development lifecycle., • Participate in team collaboration meetings, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives, as a QA voice and quality advocate., • Lead or participate in defect triage and resolution discussions, ensuring timely identification and escalation of issues., • Coordinate with external vendors or partners when validating integrated workflows or data exchanges.Documentation & Reporting, • Maintain detailed QA documentation, including test plans, automation reports, traceability matrices, and defect logs., • Provide QA KPIs and automation metrics to leadership to demonstrate test coverage, execution success, and release readiness., • Ensure consistent reporting to support release planning and stakeholder communication.Essential Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare IT, or a related field., • 5+ years of experience in QA, with 1+ years in test automation in a healthcare payer environment., • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar., • Experience building test automation for Unix applications and backend databases (SQL Server)., • Proficient in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)., • Strong understanding of QA practices in fast-paced delivery environments., • Solid knowledge of EDI X12 transactions (834, 837, 835, 270/271), Claims, Enrollment, and Provider data workflows., • Proficient with SQL for backend testing and data validation., • Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA or equivalent., • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications, • Knowledge of version control systems like Git and test result reporting using BI Reporting, or similar., • Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.* General Knowledge of HIPAA Confidentiality Laws About At Brighton Health Plan Solutions, LLC, our people are committed to the improvement of how healthcare is accessed and delivered.
