Job DescriptionJob Title: Dryer OperatorJob Description This role operates and monitors industrial drying equipment to safely and efficiently convert wet chemical slurry into finished product. You will set up, run, and oversee the drying process, troubleshoot issues, perform minor repairs, and ensure all output is accurately documented in the production tracking system. Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and monitor industrial dryers to process chemical slurry into dry product according to standard operating procedures., • Start up, operate, and shut down process equipment safely and efficiently, following established operating procedures for process, safety, and maintenance., • Track and record production output using computers and the designated tracking system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation., • Package dried product according to specifications and complete all required documentation for product identification and traceability., • Continuously monitor process parameters and equipment performance to maintain product quality and throughput., • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues as they arise, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions., • Perform minor repairs and adjustments on process equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safe, reliable operation., • Develop and maintain a full understanding of each piece of equipment and control system in the assigned work area, including its purpose and operating characteristics., • Understand the layout of equipment and how each piece of equipment impacts surrounding process and storage areas., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including safe operation of equipment, lockout/tagout practices, and proper handling of chemicals., • Maintain a full understanding of process hazards and chemical hazards in the assigned area and apply this knowledge to daily work., • Work collaboratively with a small team to coordinate production schedules, support maintenance activities, and ensure smooth operation across different roles., • Support ongoing improvements and upgrades within the facility by adapting to new equipment, processes, and procedures as they are implemented., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of experience operating process equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Ability to set up, run, and monitor the drying process for chemical slurry using industrial dryers., • Experience troubleshooting process issues and performing minor repairs on industrial or process equipment., • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical systems and equipment components., • Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process, safety, and maintenance., • Proficiency using computers to enter, track, and retrieve production data in a tracking system., • Strong awareness of equipment hazards and safe operation practices in a process environment., • Understanding of process hazards and chemical hazards in a production area and how to mitigate them., • Ability to read, follow, and document production schedules and work instructions., • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, recordkeeping, and product identification., • Ability to diagnose basic equipment issues and communicate more complex problems to maintenance or supervision., • Comfort working with chemical processes and adherence to all safety and handling procedures.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience as a process operator or dryer operator in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial setting., • Familiarity with industrial control systems and equipment layouts in a process environment., • Experience working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols in a regulated facility., • Ability to adapt to changing processes and equipment as facility upgrades and improvements are implemented., • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to learn multiple roles within a small operations team., • Solid documentation skills for production records, maintenance logs, and process tracking., • Interest in long-term stability and growth within a manufacturing environment undergoing investment and modernization.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AVENEL, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
