Job Description THE OPPORTUNITY Ophthalmic Scribes play a key role in supporting our providers and patients. You’ll accompany physicians during exams, document real-time patient interactions, and assist with testing and procedures. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Prepare patient charts/EMRs and exam rooms, • Accurately document physician-patient interactions, • Track orders, prescriptions, and testing, • Perform ophthalmic testing & work up (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, etc.), • Educate patients on procedures, testing, and prescriptions, • Audit charts for accuracy, • Provide exceptional patient care and service WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Strong verbal and written communication skills, • Outgoing, dependable, and service-oriented, • Calm under pressure, adaptable to change, • Positive team player with a can-do attitude, • Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus (not required), • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. You’ll play a key role in the patient experience—assisting providers, performing eye tests, documenting exams, and ensuring every patient receives exceptional care. What You’ll Do * Prepare charts/EMRs and exam rooms * Record patient history, testing results, diagnoses, and treatment plans * Perform eye tests (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, etc.) * Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures * Maintain equipment and manage patient flow * Ensure infection control and confidentiality at all times What You’ll Bring * 2–3+ years in an ophthalmic or medical setting * Strong communication and multitasking skills * Experience as a Medical Scribe or Ophthalmic Technician (COA/COT) preferred * Knowledge of ocular pharmacology a plus * Friendly, dependable, and adaptable team player Why Join Us Be part of a nationally recognized eye care network that values growth, excellence, and inclusion.
