Job Description LHH Recruitment is seeking a Staff Accountant to work for a Not for Profit organization in Queens, NY. This is a Full Time, Immediate Opportunity! IN Office. Position Overview: Under general direction, the Financial Analyst/Accountant is responsible for providing strategic financial analysis and forecasting to support agency operations and budgeting. This role involves preparing financial presentations, conducting capital expenditure and cost-benefit analyses, modeling revenue projections, and performing ad hoc reporting. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights to agency leadership through detailed general ledger reviews, industry comparisons, and scenario-based forecasting. Key Responsibilities: The Financial Analyst/Accountant will * Maintain monthly fixed asset schedules and post adjusting journal entries as needed. * Prepare and manage balance sheet schedules for the organization and create accounts payable trend analyses to identify outstanding invoices. * Analyzing current and historical trends in key performance indicators across revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, and loan documents. * Monitor budgets, investigate variances, and provide timely recommendations to improve financial performance. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field * Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst/Staff Accountant Skills and Competencies: * Strong understanding of general ledger systems and statistical analysis tools * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical capabilities * Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently * Experience with database applications and financial modeling * Initiative-driven with a problem-solving mindset APPLY TODAY!
