Job Summary: • Abides by all Safe Sanctuary policies of the Riverside Church at all times., • Complete CPR course, • Engage with children ages 4-12 years in organized activities during Church School, i.e., age-appropriate songs, stories, lessons, crafts, etc., • Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. Universal precautions should always be used while time of body fluids., • Ensures safety of the classroom environment, i.e., cleaning products and medications stored out of reach of children, outlet covers on electrical outlets, etc., • Collaborate with other Church School teachers and the Minister of Children & Families., • Report any issues or concerns regarding children and fellow Church School Teachers to the Minister of Children & Families., • Participate in all workshops and trainings as presented by the Minister of Children & Families., • Church School Teachers are expected to work holidays that fall on Sunday and may be asked to work additional hours during busy times, i.e., Holy week., • Additionally, the Church School Teacher will also perform other related duties as assigned.
