About You Summary The segment manager (Hispanic) will oversee all work streams focused on growth of this key customer segment included but not limited to assortment and merchandising opportunities, marketing and advertising initiatives. The segment manager will act as the project leader and liaison between all Wakefern functions and store leadership. This role requires cross-functional efforts that ultimately lead to individual store recommendations. The manager will lead research to execution, and identify opportunities within assortment, merchandising, advertising, and marketing to develop a best-in-class action plan to reach these specific, targeted customers. Additionally, store level engagement will be crucial to the success of executing against all these functional recommendations. This role will develop and maintain a scorecard to measure success. These efforts will be actively measured by customer count, sales, units, trips, baskets, and market share, but not limited to these metrics of success. Core Functions The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Project Management from research to execution for multicultural, • Host cross divisional workgroup meetings to ensure each division is progressing, • Develop a relevant playbook for membership, • Work closely with product divisions to develop assortment recommendations, • Work closely with merchandising team to develop merchandising recommendations, • Work closely with advertising to develop a relevant media plan and evergreen/theme driven creative, • Work closely with the digital and social team to leverage all digital and media assets to reach this customer, • Work closely with over-indexing members and store leadership, • Schedule member meetings to present opportunities and help advise and determine each store’s approach, • Works with members/department managers to on executing recommended communication/marketing plan (ie: flex patches), • Work with members/departments to integrate recommended items/merchandising displays and in store signs/labels, • Build Customer Insights by building an external network, engaging with customers, and analyzing relevant market research data, • Define tailored marketing campaigns for strategic market segments, aiming to generate new customer contacts, optimize the distribution of new solutions, and improve sales., • Responsible for identifying and analyzing behaviors of key customer segments within the existing base and develop programs, • Prepares presentations for various audiences ranging from peers to executive level., • Manage and measure the success of all tactical elements implemented, • Work directly with vendors to monetize and support key segment opportunities, • May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary, depending upon the segment needs. Knowledge and Skill Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, food marketing or equivalent. MBA is preferred., • Minimum of 7 years of Procurement or Marketing experience a must, • 3-5 years of experience Analyzing customer, business and industry data to drive business performance. · Knowledge of financial drivers, experience in developing return on investment objectives, ability to understand high level financial models and review quarterly forecasts, • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, • Must have strong strategic thinking, organizational and critical thinking skills, • The role requires strong cross functional partnership across the co-op, • SAP Experience preferred, • Knowledge of segment of focus, • Proven organization and multitasking skills, • Proven project management skills, • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, • Effective presentation skills, • Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands, • Ability to travel on behalf of the company as needed, • Competency with computer operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Placement in the salary depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
