Job Description Medical Assistant – Dental Surgery Center Location: Hauppauge, NY Employment Type: Part-Time or Full Time Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional flexibility required based on surgical schedule) Reports To: Registered Nurse/Doctors/Anesthesiologists About Us We are a well-established dental implant surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a professional, team-oriented environment. Our practice specializes in dental implant procedures supported by an experienced clinical and anesthesia team. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant to support our nurse, surgeons, and anesthesiologists in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Position Summary The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting with surgical preparation, patient assessments, and overall clinical support throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative process. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can anticipate needs and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced surgical setting. Key Responsibilities ● Assist the nurse, surgeons, and anesthesiologists in all aspects of patient care. ● Prepare surgical rooms and materials for procedures. ● Performing 3D and panoramic scanning of patients for procedure. ● Support anesthesia induction and recovery processes as directed. ● Monitor patient vital signs and recognize early signs of patient change in condition. ● Assist with phlebotomy, oxygen monitoring, and other clinical tasks as delegated. ● Communicate effectively with the front office, surgical assistants, laboratory, and management to ensure seamless coordination of care. ● Work directly with surgical and dental assistants for surgery, willing to learn assistant tasks. ● Monitor and maintain clinical inventory and supplies when necessary. ● Uphold all infection control, safety, and compliance standards. Qualifications ● Certified Medical Assistant (or equivalent) – required ● BLS and/or ACLS certification – required ● EMT certification – a strong plus ● Dental or oral surgery experience or eagerness to learn – preferred ● Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills ● Strong communication and teamwork abilities ● Ability to multitask and prioritize in a clinical environment ● Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor Compensation and Benefits ● Competitive hourly rate based on experience ● Professional development and training opportunities ● Supportive and collaborative work environment ● [Optional: Include health benefits, PTO, or retirement plan if applicable] About the Clinical Team Our clinical staff manage comprehensive patient care including 3D and panoramic scanning, pre-operative assessments, medical history review, intra-operative monitoring, and post-operative care.
