We're looking for a dedicated Senior Residential Counselor to join our residential team at Hope For Youth in a non-secure youth detention program. In this role, you'll support young people through challenging times, help create a safe and structured environment, and lead by example for both residents and staff on your shift. To qualify for this job you need to be or have at minimum: • High School Diploma or GED, • Valid NYS driver's license in good standing, • Ability to:, • work flexible schedule, • Lift/move up to fifty (50) pounds, • Escort residents into the community and to appointments to service providers as needed, • Physically restrain a child or youth during a crisis situation (TCI Training is provided with focus on de-escalation techniques), • Read/write reports and log entries, repetitive wrist/finger movements, • Operate a motor vehicle carrying up to 10 children and youth, • Support other projects as needed within the Residential Department, • Open to supervision and able to work as part of a team, • Role model appropriately; nurture, teach, and structure daily living setting, • Organize activities and engage youth throughout the shift Hope For Youth, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
