Additional responsibilities include: • Patiently and cheerfully taking resident meal orders, • Checking station tables for settings and cleanliness, • Reading the menu after service so that you can knowledgeably assist the residents with their selections, • Assisting in the plating and proper portion controls of some or all of the following: appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts, • Experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry, • Able to function in a fast-paced environment, • Have a strong ability to multi-task, • Possesses good communication, customer service and people skills, • Is professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base, • Experience working with a senior population is preferred, but not required, • Is a team player, willing to help out where needed to ensure a pleasurable dining experience, • Familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines is a plus, • Is able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways, • Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in actions and demeanor, • Maintains an abiding respect for the elderly and remains calm at all times
