About the Role The General Manager will oversee all aspects of Devocion's retail operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, financial profitability, and adherence to the highest safety and quality standards. This individual will manage day-to-day operations, optimize inventory and labor, ensure health regulation compliance, and drive business growth. Additionally, the GM will be responsible for managing sales, staff performance, and operational efficiency while supporting and implementing company policies, guidelines, and best practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who leads by example, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and a sense of belonging. The GM will create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive atmosphere for both staff and customers, ensuring every team member feels valued and appreciated. The General Manager will report directly to the District Manager. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of baristas and supervisors to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction., • Train and develop staff to ensure consistent execution of all beverages and food standards., • Provide regular performance feedback, conduct annual reviews, and address employee concerns, ensuring a positive work environment., • Handle employee performance issues, including conflict resolution, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed., • Create and manage efficient schedules to optimize labor costs and meet customer demand, ensuring proper staffing during peak and off-peak hours. Financial & Operational Management • Monitor and manage all financial aspects of the business, including revenue, costs, and profitability., • Achieve and exceed sales targets, implementing strategies to increase foot traffic and average transaction value., • Manage the operating budget, including controlling labor, food, and beverage costs., • Control waste and shrinkage through inventory management and consistent product rotation., • Analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) such as sales, labor percentage, and inventory turnover to make data-driven decisions. Inventory & Stock Management • Oversee inventory control, ensuring stock levels are accurate and aligned with sales demands., • Implement an efficient ordering process to minimize waste and stockouts while ensuring product availability., • Conduct regular stock audits to track inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO)., • Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective purchasing practices. Customer Experience & Quality Control • Ensure exceptional customer service by setting high standards for the team and actively monitoring customer feedback., • Resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally., • Maintain consistency in product quality, ensuring that all beverages and food items meet company standards., • Promote a welcoming, clean, and enjoyable atmosphere for both customers and staff. Health & Safety Compliance • Ensure the coffee house complies with all local health and safety regulations, including Department of Health standards., • Maintain up-to-date certifications for food safety and sanitation., • Implement and uphold health and safety training programs for all staff., • Conduct regular health inspections and audits to ensure the coffee house remains in compliance with local health codes. Business Growth & Marketing • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute local promotional strategies and campaigns., • Identify opportunities to increase sales through new menu offerings, loyalty programs, or community events., • Build relationships with local businesses and community organizations to increase brand visibility and attract new customers., • Monitor and analyze business trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies for continuous growth. Requirements Experience: • 2 years of experience in a managerial role within the specialty coffee industry., • Proven experience managing a team of 8+ employees and overseeing daily operations., • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and controlling costs. Skills: • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills., • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure situations., • Proficient in inventory management and POS systems, • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment., • Knowledge of food safety practices and health regulations., • Experience with scheduling software and payroll systems is a plus. You will be standing, moving, cleaning, folding, lifting, and working with urgency throughout the shift. Pay Starting base pay is $17.00 per hour during the initial training period. After successfully completing the first 2 weeks of training, employees become eligible for our wash-dry-fold production bonus of $0.08 per pound. Productive employees who meet our quality and production standards typically earn about $18.50–$20.00 per hour with the production bonus. Employees who show 6 weeks of quality productivity and reliable attendance may increase to $17.50 per hour base pay, plus production bonus. Employees who show 4 months of quality productivity and reliable attendance may increase to $18.00 per hour base pay, plus production bonus. This job is on the books and all employees must be eligible to wokr in the U.S. Reliable attendance means showing up for scheduled shifts consistently, arriving on time, and avoiding call-outs except for true emergencies. Schedule We are currently hiring for part-time, 2 shifts per week. Additional shifts may become available for strong, reliable employees. Applicants must be able to work their scheduled shifts consistently. Frequent call-outs, repeated schedule changes, or recurring availability conflicts will not work for this position. Job Duties Responsibilities include: • Processing wash-dry-fold laundry orders, • Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging laundry neatly, • Helping customers with friendly, professional service, • Using a simple POS/register system, • Cleaning machines, lint traps, counters, floors, bathroom, and customer areas, • Keeping the store organized and running smoothly, • Following instructions and quality-control standards, • Standing and working actively for most of the shift Requirements Applicants must: • Be at least 18 years old, • Have at least 1 year of consecutive work experience in any job, • Be reliable and punctual, • Be able to stand and work actively for an 8-hour shift, • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, • Be comfortable cleaning, including bathrooms and laundry equipment, • Be able to follow directions and accept feedback, • Be friendly with customers, • Take pride in neat, high-quality work, • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Laundry, cleaning, retail, food service, customer service, or warehouse experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
