Summary
The Mechanic plays an integral part in the success and safety of Russell Standard and the communities we serve. By maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment, Mechanics ensure that we meet and exceed operational standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Performs diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance of Class 1 through Class 8 commercial and vocational vehicles, trucks, and trailers - Performs diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance of heavy construction equipment and machinery - Uses hydraulic system and electrical system schematics to perform position duties - Uses parts, service, and technical manuals to perform position duties - Performs field service when needed - Completes and records detailed record pertaining to equipment services - All other duties as assigned Skills and Education Required - High School diploma or GED equivalent - Valid Driver’s License - Minimum of three (3) years in maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and equipment - Must have personal owned tools/tool set Preferred - CDL Driver’s License (Class A or B) - Valid PA Inspection License Job Requirements - Ability to work in a team environment with other crew members, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision - Must be able to work overtime and have a willingness to be flexible in scheduling - Ability to work varied shifts and long hours during peak operation times (spring, summer, and fall) - Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds and recognize unsafe operating conditions - Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers - Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing - Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
