We are looking for an SCADA Platform Engineer to work on exciting projects with high business impact. The role involves working as part of a global team to design and develop SCADA products for the renewable energy domain and contributing to design discussions across teams. Essential Responsibilities • Focus on critical evaluation, selection and validation of software and hardware components of the SCADA infrastructure., • Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for SCADA infrastructure., • Apply principles of Lean/Agile and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices and Testing Techniques., • Work with team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions., • Provide expertise in quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for SCADA platform projects., • Expertise in writing PowerShell code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality., • Provide hands‑on technical leadership in design and support of VMware, Microsoft and Linux servers., • Demonstrate initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems., • Promote transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with suitable level of detail and timeliness., • Provide hands‑on leadership in release of subcomponents of SCADA products within the product life cycle tool. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, Power Systems., • IT Infrastructure knowledge, e.g. Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification., • Clear understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification (recommended)., • Clear understanding of IP networks and DoD network model., • Clear understanding of Microsoft Hyper‑V and VMware ESXi., • Clear understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL., • Sound knowledge in Microsoft PowerShell and Linux Bash., • Good written and verbal communication skills and experience working in a global team environment. Desired Characteristics • Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals., • Understands concepts of setting and driving architecture direction., • Familiar with elements of gathering architecture requirements., • Understands architecture standards concepts to apply to project work., • Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting edge and/or large‑scale distributed systems., • In‑depth knowledge of operating systems (processes, threads, concurrency issues, locks, mutexes, semaphores, monitors and how they work)., • Experience working on Linux/Unix, Microsoft Windows and VMware environments., • Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/validation infrastructure., • Knowledge of Renewable Energy Domain, especially wind, and hands‑on experience with Mark 6e controllers and related software would be an added plus., • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server/PostgreSQL or other SQL/non‑SQL databases would be a plus.
