About the role : A Junior Operations Engineer supports the stability and continuous improvement of systems and applications by combining monitoring with development and automation tasks. The role involves troubleshooting incidents, implementing fixes, automating manual processes, and contributing to system enhancements under the guidance of senior engineers. The main purpose of the role is to maintain operational reliability while actively contributing to development, automation, and process improvements that increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Key responsibilities: Design and maintain dashboards, alerts, scripts, and automated procedures. Monitor systems and applications to prevent issues and mitigate incidents. Manage operational tickets, including incident analysis and resolution. Analyze issues and implement fixes, including development and testing, and assist with production deployments. Develop code changes and improvements for maintenance projects. Work with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines to support development and deployment processes. Identify improvement opportunities and gaps in processes and code. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields, a recognized vocational or professional qualification in a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate) are a plus. 6 months to 2 years of experience in IT operations, technical support, or related development roles. (Internship experience is also valued.) Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar). Basic familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD workflows. Understanding of incident management and operational processes. Ability to work with technical documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures. Basic knowledge of or interest in testing and validating software changes. Awareness of best practices in software‑critical systems and high‑availability environments. Interest in automation and improving operational processes. Good problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to clearly report issues and progress. Willingness to learn and grow in a technical and operational environment. What’s in it for you?
